Scans on the injury Ibrahima Sonko sustained at Liverpool have revealed the Stoke defender has not suffered a fracture.

The £2 million Senegalese signing thought he had broken or fractured a bone in his leg after being forced to limp off at Anfield after just 14 minutes.

But an X-ray has shown the injury is not as bad as first feared and it could have just suffered bruising.

He will definitely not play in the Carling Cup tie against Reading this week and is a doubt for the clash against Chelsea next weekend.
