Egyptian League Action This Weekend

League leaders Petrojet will be looking to keep their unbeaten home record intact when they face Ghazl Al Mehalla in the Egyptian League on Friday afternoon.
With Al Ahly participating in the MTN CAF Champions League final, first leg, against Coton Sport of Cameroon, it means the Red Devils’ scheduled match against bitter city rivals Zamalek has been postponed, handing Petrojet the chance to put more daylight between themselves and their main rivals for the title.
Petrojet currently lead ENPPI by a single point at the top of the table, but with Ahly continuing to gain ground as they win their games in hand, they need to keep winning.
They have been boosted by the news that midfielder Walid Soliman and full-back Osama Mohamed will not be leaving the club, according to coach Mokhtar Mokhtar, after reported interest from the likes of Zamalek and Al Ahly.
Olympic, fresh from their shock 3-1 away win at Zamalek in the last round, take on Telecom Egypt, who have made a bright start to the campaign and lie in fifth place.
The final game on Friday pits Arab Contractors, unbeaten at home, against Al Ittihad, who have been good on the road.
Al Masry, third-bottom and desperate for a win, tackle Asyut Petroleum at home on Saturday, with the visitors just one point above their hosts at the top of the table.
Game of the day on Saturday though pits second-placed ENPPI against Haras El Hedood, who did so well in CAF continental competition this season, while Ismaily host bottom club Police Union with the chance to go top of the table if other results go their way.
Sunday’s only fixture pits Al Gaish at home to Tersana in a battle between two clubs near the foot of the table.
