Tunisia’s footballing focus will be split equally this weekend between Saturday’s African Confederation Cup final and the derby game on Sunday that points defending champions Club Africain with log leaders Esperance.

Esperance have a three point lead at the head of the standings over Etoile du Sahel, who play CS Sfaxien in the first leg of the final.

Club Africain lie third in the standings and this week banned supporters from their training sessions to concentrate their efforts on the traditionally hard-fought Tunis derby.

Club Africain are unbeaten after seven games in the Ligue 1 campaign this season, but have drawn four and won three of their matches, leaving them five points behind Esperance, who have won six of seven with a single defeat.

Stade Tunisien and US Monastir also play in Tunis on Sunday, hoping to move themselves up among the frontrunners.
