Samassa To Stay At Olympique Marseille

French-born striker Mamadou Samassa, who recently declared his availability for Mali, has been told he will be staying with Olympique Marseille despite the French club signing two new strikers in the last days.

The 22-year-old has been told by coach Eric Gerets he still has confidence in his ability despite signing Brazilian striker Brandao and former French international Sylvain Wiltord.

"He is a young player who has progressed a lot.

"I have confidence in him and he is going to stay with us until the end of the season," Gerets added.
