Nigeria international midfielder Christian Obodo has been signed by Spanish club Espanyol, who have bought him for two million Euros from Udinese in Italy.

Obodo, who has recovered after a long-standing injury, is in line for a weekend debut at Malaga on Sunday as Espanyol seek to climb out of the relegation zone.

The 24-year-old has been in Italy since 2001 when he first played for Perugia.

He was also on the books of Fiorentina for a single season.
