Etoile du Sahel have fired coach Gernot Rohr after a third-place finish in the Tunisian League this season.

Team spokesman Taoufik Gahbiche said the club were disappointed with the manner in which Rohr led the side.

“We’ve gotten to the point where we can’t even have one more training session with him, especially from the standpoint of player discipline and the style of play,” Gahbiche told Mosaique FM.

“If we didn’t have the CAF Champions League obligations then he wouldn’t have even stayed this long.”

Etoile ended their domestic season on a disappointing note with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of eventual champions Esperance on Wednesday.
