Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo scored his first goal in over a year for Everton on Saturday as the Toffees moved into fifth-place in the English Premiership with a 3-1 win over West Ham.

Yobo scored Everton’s second goal just after halftime as he controlled a corner-kick at the back post and rifled a shot into the net at the angle.

Louis Saha netted the other two in a comfortable win for the Goodison Park side.

Yobo is assured of an FA Cup Final starting berth on May 30 against Chelsea should he remain fit after a difficult season with injury.

With David Moyes side having lost the excellent Phil Jagielka to a cruciate injury, Yobo and Joleon Lescott are the only two fit senior centre-backs in the squad.
