Zimbabwe defender Cephas Chimedza netted a last minute penalty to hand St Truiden a shock 2-1 away win over leaders Anderlecht in the Belgian league at the weekend.
The loss was the first at home this league season for the Brussels- based club, who still have a healthy nine point lead at the head of the standings.
St Truiden went 0-1 down after just 20 minutes but came back into the match before Chimedza showed steely nerves to make sure of a famous win for his side, who moved up to fifth in the standings.
Morocco international Mounir El Hamdaoui scored for champions AZ’67 Alkmaar as they beat Feyenoord 2-1 away on Sunday.
Ghana striker Matthew Amoah marked his return from the African Nations Cup finals with the winner in a 2-1 away triumph at Willem II Tilburg on Friday night.
In Switzerland, veteran Ghanaian defender Mark Edusei scored for struggling Bellinzona but they still went down 6-3 at FC Aarau, conceding four goals in the first half.
Daniel Addo found the net on Sunday for relegation haunted Hapoel Petach Tikva in Israel as they drew 2-2 at home with Hapoel Haifa on Sunday.
