Zidan Sought By Big Name European Teams
February 9, 2010
Egyptian international Mohamed Zidan’s father told Egyptian television over the weekend that there are a number of teams in the English Premier League chasing his son Mohamed.
The younger Zidan’s reputation has been greatly enhanced by his recent outstanding performances for the Egyptian national team in Angola during the Africa Cup of Nations, helping Egypt to win their third straight title.
Despite his German Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund losing 3-2 to Eintracht Frankfurt in the German top flight this past weekend, which was his first game back since returning during the week from Angola.
Zidan still put up a great show and set up both of his team’s goal, as his team went down to Frankfurt. If Abdullah Zidan is to be believed his son could be playing at one of the big name teams on the European continent as he said to Dream TV in Egypt, "there are clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United that have asked his agent about Mohamed”.
Although Mohamed Zidan has a contract with Dortmund that runs to 2012 Abdullah is confident that his son could still finalize a move away from Germany at the end of the season as he explained, "Mohamed has a contract at Dortmund until 2012, but he has a clause allowing him to leave the club at the end of the season for a certain amount of money."
